Beretta's A400 Xplor Action is a 12-gauge semi-automatic field shotgun with a 28-inch vent rib barrel chambered for both 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells. The barrel is blued, carries a fiber-optic front sight and takes removable chokes, with additional tubes included. The receiver has a bronze finish, and the checkered wood stock and forend are fitted with Beretta's Kick-Off device at a 14.5-inch length of pull. The listing files this gun as used, and the photo shown is a stock image rather than the actual piece.

Illinois deer hunters have a direct use for a 12 gauge, because shotguns firing slugs are among the legal firearm deer guns in the state. The first firearm season falls on November 20 to 22, 2026, with a second window December 3 to 6, and permits are drawn by county quota through the IDNR lottery, with leftovers posted after the draws. Outside deer season the choke set lets the same gun go after birds and clays.
