A partial box of Winchester .38 S&W Smokeless centerfire cartridges, loaded with 145-grain lead bullets. Eight shells remain in the box. The item is sold as used, which for ammunition means an older box that has been opened and partly consumed, not freshly manufactured rounds. Nothing in the listing identifies the box style or production era, so judge it from the photos.

With only eight rounds, this is a box for an Illinois cartridge collector or for someone filling a gap in a Winchester box collection, not a range purchase. Owners of a revolver in .38 S&W occasionally buy partial boxes like this for a few period-correct rounds to photograph with the gun. Treat vintage lead-bullet ammunition as a collectible first; if you do intend to fire any of it, inspect each case for cracks and corrosion beforehand.
