Serial no. 585064. Manufactured in April 1942 by Springfield Armory, chambered in .30-06 Springfield, 24″ round barrel marked “SA F6535448 1-65 MD40 P.” Bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted. The rifle is fitted with a post-war Springfield replacement barrel dated January 1965, reflecting continued U.S. military arsenal service. The operating rod has been cut, and the internal components are Springfield Armory marked with the exception of the hammer, which is marked “W.R.A.” for Winchester. The rifle retains its desirable Type III lock bar rear sight. The stock shows honest handling impressions with a faint circled “P” proof on the wrist and “155” carved into the pistol grip area. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
