Serial no. 17747. Manufactured circa 1941 by Toyo Kogyo, Series 30, chambered in 7.7x58mm Arisaka, 26″ round barrel. Bore is good with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are non-matching. The anti-aircraft wings and imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) have been removed. The nose cap screw is missing, and the bolt handle has been turned down. The stock has had a light coat of linseed oil applied and shows honest handling wear. Early Toyo Kogyo Type 99 rifles are known for their quality workmanship and remain a popular variant among Japanese military rifle collectors. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
