This Winchester pump-action takedown rifle, serial 205075, was made in 1947 and is chambered in 22 Short, with a 23-inch round barrel, dovetailed front and rear sights, a tube magazine with the gallery cut, walnut furniture and the original butt plate. It is not numbers matching: the stock section with the lower tang carries a different number from the barreled action, and the original model 90 marking has been stamped over to read 62.

Condition is as the supplier states it: some wear and handling marks, an action that appears to be an old re-blue, and a bore with light frosting but strong rifling, good and solid overall. A 22 Short gallery gun has no place in Illinois deer season, where the rules call for shotguns with slugs, muzzleloaders, qualifying handguns or single-shot centerfire rifles of .30 caliber or larger; it is a plinker and a conversation piece, and the takedown design makes it easy to store or carry to the range.
