This Springfield M1 Garand, serial 5930083, is a 1956 gun carrying a 24-inch barrel that bears National Match markings and a 1956 date; the bore is bright and the rifling strong. Its stock is glass bedded, shows the U.S. DoD acceptance stamp plus a circled serif P proof, and has the front handguard anchored to the rear band. On top sits a DRC T105E1 adjustable rear sight, and the gas cylinder lock screw is the high-hump pattern.

Accessories are a leather M1907 sling, a 1952 M3A1 tool from K. R. Wilson of Arcade, New York, and a CMP letter from February 2001 recording a 1958 DCM sale. The grade is excellent, nothing beyond light handling wear. An Illinois buyer gets a documented collector and match piece; because the state's firearm deer rules admit only single-shot centerfire rifles of .30 caliber and up, this Garand stays a range and competition gun at home.
