Serial no. A404. Originally manufactured at Rifle Factory Ishapore in 1927 and subsequently converted by B.S.A. Co. in 1955 to .22 caliber, 25″ round barrel. Bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are matching, while the magazine is unmarked. Approximately 95% of the re-arsenal finish remains with expected high-edge wear noted. The right side of the socket is marked “1955 / Broad Arrow / .22,” while the left side retains “RFI / 1927” markings documenting the rifle’s original Ishapore manufacture. The left side of the receiver is additionally marked “FTR,” indicating a Factory Thorough Repair. Stock remains in very good condition with minimal handling wear noted. An interesting military training conversion that clearly displays both its original 1927 Ishapore manufacture and subsequent 1955 .22-caliber conversion and refurbishment history. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
