Fierce Carbon Mini Rogue XP 6.5 PRC 20-Inch Rifle, Smoked Bronze / Sonora Ambush Camo Adj C

Coyotes on farm ground, range days around Chicago and the collar counties, and hunting trips to Missouri, Wisconsin or out West keep a bolt rifle busy for Illinois owners. Illinois deer rules limit which rifles are legal, so check the IDNR digest before planning a home-state deer hunt with one.

Fierce Firearms builds the Mini Rogue line for youth, women and smaller-framed hunters. A carbon fiber stock, a shorter length of pull and an adjustable comb make it easy for a teen or a smaller adult to shoot well from a bipod or a pack. Calibers include 22, 25, 6mm and 6.5 Creedmoor, plus 308 Winchester and 7mm-08 Remington. Fierce dual-lug actions, QD flush cups and adjustable triggers round it out.

6.5 PRC takes the 6.5 mm bullet faster than the Creedmoor for more reach on elk and mule deer, at the cost of a little more recoil. 6.5 PRC recoils more than the Creedmoors; for a first season most young hunters do better with 6.5 Creedmoor.

The XP version adds Fierce's C3 carbon fiber match-grade barrel to the Mini Rogue stock, with a TriggerTech Primary ProCurve trigger and QD flush-cup mounts.

This rifle has a 20 in barrel. Finish: Smoked Bronze / Sonora Ambush Camo Adj C.

Coyote calling and long-range practice both reward a steady, relaxed position. Get the length of pull right so a smaller shooter can settle behind the rifle on a bipod without crowding the scope. Then dial the comb so the cheek rests firm and the eye is centered. A 22 or 6mm Creedmoor is a fine teacher before anyone moves to 308.
