This deluxe Winchester Model 1873 rifle, serial 403298, is chambered in 32-20 with a 24-inch barrel. The supplier grades it as very fine, with very good blue on the barrel and bright case colors on the frame. A factory letter comes with the rifle and confirms all of its features, SKU AW267.

Deluxe-grade 1873s that still show bright case colors are bought for the cabinet, and that is how an Illinois buyer should think of this one. The state's firearm deer rules cover shotguns with slugs, muzzleloaders, qualifying handguns and single-shot centerfire rifles of .30 caliber or larger, so this 32-20 will not be your November rifle. Its value lies in the documented deluxe features, the surviving factory blue and case color, and the letter that ties the two together into a provable history for the next owner.
